Accessibility Statement
Last updated 15 October 2026
A typing site should be usable with a keyboard alone, and ours is. We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA across the site.
What we do
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable with the keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
- Live typing statistics are announced politely to screen readers without interrupting typing.
- Charts and heatmaps have text equivalents (tables and summaries).
- Two high-contrast themes and 28 other themes, all checked for 4.5:1 text contrast.
- Font size for the typing area from 14 to 40 px, and sans, serif and monospace options.
- Animations are disabled when your system requests reduced motion.
- Layout emulation lets you practise alternative layouts without changing system settings.
Known limitations
- Games rely on timing and are not fully accessible to screen-reader users; the equivalent skills are covered by lessons.
- The on-screen keyboard is decorative for screen readers; the next key is also announced in the lesson text.
