- How is WPM measured in a words test?
- The clock starts on your first keystroke and stops when the 10th word is complete. WPM = correct characters ÷ 5 ÷ minutes, so a slow finish on the last word still counts.
- Why do I score higher here than on a 5 minute test?
- Short word tests use common, short words and no fatigue sets in. Treat them as a sprint benchmark and use timed tests for exam preparation.
- Can I add punctuation and numbers?
- Yes. Toggle punctuation and numbers in the settings bar, or raise the difficulty to hard for longer, less common words.
